Course Appetizer, Snack
Servings 4

Ingredients

  • 250 g Cheese
  • 2 Eggs
  • 100 g Breadcrumbs
  • 50 g Flour
  • Salt, Pepper, Seasoning

Instructions

  • To start your deep fried cheese balls recipe, first of all we must know what cheese you've got. If you're using Gouda, to make fried Gouda cheese balls, you'll have to shred the cheese and form balls of it.
  • With Gouda cheese, it's much more easier if you slice the cheese into longer shapes, or cubes, or rectangles, but important is to be at least 3-4cm tall.
  • Then beat up two eggs, prepare on a plate flour, and on another one the breadcrumbs. Season the eggs with salt and pepper. If you like some extra taste, add dried basil to it!
  • Heat up the oil in the pan, and make sure to use as much so it will cover the cheese.
  • Dip the cheese slices first in flour, then in the eggs, and as of last in the breadcrumbs. As the cheese melts, it's best to dip it again in eggs and breadcrumbs, so the cheese is getting a thicker crust.
  • As soon as you see the oil boiling, you can put the breaded cheese into the pan. It doesn't need more than 3-4 minutes. As soon as the outside is getting a golden color, you can take it out.
